Electric Vehicle Charging
Electric vehicle (EV) charging is available for University of Illinois faculty, staff, students and guests. Level 1 and 2 charging is available for EV use at designated charging locations in parking lots and garages. These are for charging use only. Once charging is complete, please relocate to a vacant parking space.
Charging outside of designated EV charging locations may result in the issuance of citations.
Level 1 Plug-in Spaces
Limited designated parking spaces with outlets for Level 1 charging can be found across campus. There is no charging fee associated with Level 1 charging; standard parking rates apply.

Level 2 Charging Spaces
Currently, we have 53 charging spaces designed for Level 2 charging. The charging session fee for Level 2 charging is $1.25/hour for the first four hours of service and $2.50/hour for each additional hour. Posted parking rules and procedures apply.
