The University of Illinois Parking Department is working to change your parking experience for the better through our Master Plan. We would like to take this chance to inform you about the projects that will be taking place in the near future to provide long-term benefits.
GOALS
The goal of the Master Plan is to provide safe and accessible parking for the whole campus community – and since you’re part of that community, the changes will directly and indirectly benefit you! The comprehensive planning process will include these steps:
-
Needs assessment, including use of existing parking spaces and campus-wide demand for parking
-
Parking alternatives analysis for the replacement of central campus garages C7 and C10
-
Visitor parking assessment including visitor parking locations, visitor parking policy and way-finding
-
Operational assessment, including Parking Department customer service, staffing, enforcement, equipment, financial condition and other aspects
-
Parking technology assessment
-
Parking facility assessment, including current condition and a 10-year facility maintenance and replacement plan
-
Financial analysis, including operational costs, fee structure, sources of revenue, and financing of improvements
The Parking Department is committed to keeping you informed as we explore our options in depth during this planning process.
